Position Overview:
The Building Engineer is responsible for managing the maintenance and repair operations of all building systems, tenant improvement projects, and tenant customer service. They will utilize their knowledge of HVAC controls, electrical maintenance, plumbing systems, and mechanical systems to ensure the building is operating effectively and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee day-to-day maintenance operations of the building
Management and oversight of maintenance technicians
Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical systems, electrical systems, plumbing systems, and HVAC systems
Execute tenant improvement projects, including painting, carpentry, and light plumbing
Respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner
Develop preventive maintenance plans and ensure they are carried out
Monitor building operations and ensure they are compliant with all safety regulations
Maintain records and document all maintenance activities for building portfolio management
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience
At least 5 years of experience in building maintenance and repair
Knowledge of HVAC controls, electrical maintenance, plumbing systems, and mechanical systems
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems
Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform strenuous work
Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations
