Structural Steel Estimator

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Structural Steel Estimator to join our team. The primary objective of this role is to accurately analyze project specifications and prepare cost estimates for structural steel projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural steel estimation and will contribute to the overall success of our projects by ensuring precise budgeting and resource allocation.

Key Responsibilities

Review project plans and specifications to understand the scope of work.
Prepare detailed cost estimates for structural steel projects, including materials, labor, and overhead.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information.
Identify and quantify all materials and labor required for each project.
Generate and maintain accurate bid documents and proposals.
Provide support during the bid process and assist in negotiations with clients and subcontractors.
Evaluate and analyze bids and proposals from subcontractors for accuracy and completeness.
Maintain a database of pricing and vendor contacts for future reference.
Stay updated on industry trends, pricing changes, and new materials.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years experience in structural steel estimating.
Proficient in structural steel and estimating methodologies.
Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
Experience with Tekla or other estimation software is a plus.
Knowledge of steel erection and steel fabrication processes is advantageous.
