Tax Senior Manager
Position Overview
The Tax Senior Manager will oversee and manage the tax compliance and planning functions for the organization. This role will ensure adherence to all IRS regulations while developing effective tax strategies that align with the company's financial objectives. The ideal candidate will provide leadership to the tax team and coordinate audit activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting and risk management related to tax issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage tax compliance and planning activities for corporate, state, and international tax matters.
- Research and analyze tax issues to provide informed recommendations on tax strategies and risk management.
- Coordinate with external auditors and internal stakeholders to facilitate tax audits and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Oversee the preparation and review of tax returns, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and international regulations.
- Develop and implement tax strategies that optimize the organization's tax position and support business objectives.
- Manage the transfer pricing processes and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Utilize tax software (e.g., CCH, Thomson Reuters) to streamline tax reporting processes and maintain accurate records.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to the tax team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree or JD is a plus.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in tax compliance and planning, with a focus on corporate and international tax.
- Strong knowledge of IRS regulations and state tax laws.
- Proven experience in tax research, tax strategy development, and risk management.
- Familiarity with tax software applications such as CCH and Thomson Reuters.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with experience in mentoring junior staff.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high attention to detail.
